The Owner

Hi there! My name is Semira Sawyer and I am the Founder and CEO of Mira Mira On Air LLC. I am a young journalist based in Atlanta. I was raised in Decatur, Georgia by my wonderful mother as an only child. My journey started at the age of 7. Back then I would interview our neighbors and post their story on the website my mom created for me. My enjoyment followed me throughout my college career at Georgia State University where I majored in Journalism and minored in Sociology while also serving as the Director of Digital for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ-GSU). It was then I realized I had a true passion for the art of not only telling stories but telling interesting stories of brilliant people. Along the way, I have overcome many challenges (some which  are on-going). Despite these challenges, my inspirations have also helped me, reminding me I can create opportunities where it seems hopeless.

Over the years I have been side by side with some great talents. I was the executive producer of Rolling Out magazine’s “The Hair Society” show where I also wrote articles and conducted interviews for their entertainment section. I also worked alongside two of the best PR firms in Atlanta; Jay Production Agency and PMC Marketing. There I was granted the opportunity of being Production Assistant of Real Housewives of Atlanta and Growing Up Hip-Hop: Atlanta. I have also worked with Hotlanta Signs as the Senior Social Media Manager. I am currently a Co-Host of the GB3 Show on I-Heart Radio which airs every Thursday from 7P-9P.

Working in these environments has caused me to become the multimedia journalist I am today: I am a blogger, entertainment reporter, social media marketer, event planner, videographer, photographer, brand manager, graphic designer, and my latest and greatest success is being the Founder and CEO of Mira Mira on Air LLC.

Glad to have you here! Through it all, I would advise you to always go the extra mile because it will show not only how serious you take your craft but also people will admire your drive.
